Our editorial standards
- Content is research-based. We do not claim to have personally tested products or kept every species we write about.
- Our editor, Chris Tatro, is not a veterinarian. We cite and summarise guidance from veterinarians, peer-reviewed husbandry research and established keeper resources.
- Where guidance differs between sources, we say so and lean toward the more conservative, welfare-first recommendation.
- Health content always encourages readers to consult a qualified reptile veterinarian.
How we choose products
Product recommendations are based on whether gear meets current care guidelines (for example, enclosure size, UVB strength and thermostat control), manufacturer specifications and broadly reported owner experience. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products we include. Prices are not listed because they change frequently. See our affiliate disclosure.
Update schedule
- Core care sheets and gear guides are reviewed at least every 12 months.
- Pages are updated sooner when new research, veterinary guidance or product changes make information out of date.
- Broken links and discontinued products are checked regularly and replaced or removed.

If you spot an error or outdated information, please email info@myhealthyreptile.com with the page URL and the issue. We review every correction request and update pages promptly when a correction is warranted.
